When I think of the calendar I feel like the 25th is staring at me this year! In regular times we would buy our presents and we would make one dish and bring it to my sister’s house for brunch, and Christmas afternoon we would go over to my in-law’s house. This year will be much different, as we will be home all day together! So that puts me in charge of breakfast/brunch and dinner! My mind has been churning on fun things to make to try to keep some normalcy as well as starting our own traditions. Because no matter how much we want things to go back to normal next year, it’s not promised that it will. I hope that we have a chance to at least get back to being with the family next year!
For Thanksgiving, one of the things that I loved is that we didn’t do everything the traditional way! We made only things that we planned on eating, and we didn’t go overboard with a lot of extra food. Our Christmas will look very much the same way! We are planning a very non-traditional Christmas dinner! I know one of the things Darrick and I talked about being on our menu was beef. We haven’t decided how we wanted to cook it, but I came up with a list below of 23 non-traditional ways of making beef for Christmas dinner!

Last weekend, we rode to ACME Fresh Market in Green because we needed a change of scenery! I’m not sure what led us in that direction but I’m so glad we went to that particular ACME Fresh Market because they had some AWESOME deals! We purchased Corned Beef for $.99/pound, it was the last day the meat could be sold and we took full advantage of the sale! It was awesome!

Remember if this is your first time cooking a large meal for your family, or trying a new recipe and you need help…take your questions to the meat counter! Here is a list of 7 Things Your Meat Cutter Can Help You With! ACME Fresh Market is one of the best places to purchase meat for your family. ACME Fresh Market carries Certified Angus Beef, it’s the best beef and most marbling and flavorful. In order to be Certified Angus Beef it has to be USDA prime grade, then meet 10 more quality standards which makes it a cut above!

This year it will just be us 4 (5 including the dog) and there are so many options and ideas for Christmas Dinner! I plan to create my menu by the weekend and hopefully get out to the store by Sunday morning. I like to shop when there are barely any people in the store. This worked for us last weekend, so as long as we aren’t in a snowstorm I plan to get out shop Sunday!

What are your dinner plans for Christmas? Will you be making a traditional Christmas dinner, or a non-traditional Christmas Dinner?
