If you have been a long time reader, you may know that I always say I had a very southern upbringing but I grew up in the north! My father is from Mobile, Alabama and my mom is from Cleveland, Ohio. My maternal grandmother was from Birmingham, Alabama and everything she taught my mom was the southern way of doing everything. Sweet Tea was something that was a big deal when we grew up! My father was VERY serious about tea when it was made. But it wasn’t until I was older that I understood why Sweet Tea was a big deal, and a southern staple!
Milo’s Tea was created by Milo and Bea Carlton, in 1946 and is a family-owned business. Milo’s Tea is a certified women-owned business, which means they’re majority-owned and controlled by women. They have been certified through an in-depth certification process administered by Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), a third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States.
If you’re looking for a fun twist on Milo’s Tea, try making a Milo’s MargariTEA! A few weeks ago, we celebrated Juneteenth together as a family, so we didn’t have big plans this weekend. It’s hard right now to celebrate a country that doesn’t believe #BlackLivesMatter
My husband and I usually have a fun drink together over the weekend, sometimes its an adult drink and sometimes its something simple! Milo’s MargariTEA was definitely on the list this weekend!
- 1 cup Milo’s Famous Sweet Tea
- 2 Limes
- 4 tablespoons Peach Margarita Mix
- 3 oz Silver Tequila of choice
- Sugar for rimming glass
- In a pitcher, add Milo’s tea, the juice of one lime, margarita mix, tequila and stir well.
- Pour granulated sugar onto small plate. Cut the remaining lime into wedges. Moisten the rim of two glasses with one wedge, then dip glasses into small plate of sugar to coat the rim. Fill glasses with ice and pour margarita pitcher contents into each glass evenly. Garnish with remaining lime wedges. Enjoy!
My husband and I enjoyed Milo’s MargariTea! I’m currently on a peach flavored kick because my coworker and I purchased a box of peaches together from The Peach Truck!! Over the weekend, I made Peaches and Biscuits and it was absolutely delicious!
With making a small helping of peaches and biscuits, I have many more peaches to use! Some will definitely be used for smoothies, but I plan to try a few more recipes with them. Below are some must-try peach recipes to try for you and your family!
