Baby Shower Ideas...

For many women, they don't have anything to do with the planning of the Baby Shower. They may pick a theme then the planners go from there. However, my situation is going to be a little different! We decided that we are going to do the shower before the end of the year, and my mom and sister will be planning it!  

Let me tell you a little about my mom and sister... they love entertaining, however, when it comes to party planning and the decorations they usually leave that party up to me! They didn't really get the party planning gene, so I came up with some ideas that I would like for a baby shower. Since we are having a girl, and my favorite color is pink, I told them it could just be a Pretty in Pink theme! I also love Hello Kitty, so if they wanted to incorporate her into the day as well, I wouldn't have a problem with that either!

I am very anxious to see what they come up with! I wont say they don't have the party planning gene at all, they just aren't as into it as I am :) I have sent plenty of emails to both of them with the details...since I can be a bit anal about decorations and parties so I think they will do a fabulous job at planning this for me!

Miss an elevator,

Turn back to answer a ringing telephone ...

All the little things that annoy me.

I think to myself,

This is exactly where

God wants me to be

At this very moment..

Next time your morning seems to be

You can't seem to find the car keys,

You hit every traffic light,

Don't get mad or frustrated;

It May be just that

God is at work watching over you.

Today, I am still on my natural high from finding out the gender of our child. I must admit that I am so in love with my family right now, feels kind of weird saying that I will soon have a child and my OWN family! I am marrying my best friend, and honestly I feel like (Tom Cruise when he jumped on Oprah's couch) LOL...no seriously, I'm so happy and thankful all at the same time! I'm trying to fight back tears as I type this, after college I wasn't dating anyone and all guys seemed to be jerks. I told my mom, I don't think I will ever find anyone and that I was fine without having kids, I had my nieces and nephew. She said well don't write it off, just continue to pray about it and see what God says. Well a few months later I started dating Darrick and my life hasn't been the same since (in a good way), I truly THANK GOD for sending us to each other. We really complete each other, and although we have a lot going on right now I wouldn't have it any other way, or with anyone else but Darrick! I honestly couldn't imagine my life without him in it, he is perfect for me!!!

I cant wait to be a Wife to Darrick, and a Mommy to our little girl!

The Moment We Have ALL Been Waiting For....

Yes, we are expecting a baby girl! Darrick and I went to the doctors this morning and found out we are having a baby girl! Even though we both wanted a boy, we were ecstatic to find out what we are having, and that the baby is healthy and has all her limbs! I couldn't stop smiling and neither could Darrick...I eventually started crying a little bit because I was so happy! I was also happy to see that the baby moving around, during the entire ultrasound she held her hands over her face so we couldn't see her face that well, it was so cute! I'm so happy and I cannot wait until February gets here so I can meet her! Its funny because we all (both sides of the family) wanted a boy because there are so many girls, but once we started telling everyone it was like we had never talked about a boy at all!

Fall Fashion Trends I'm Loving...

So here are a few items I have fallen in love with the change of the seasons!!! Last weekend while walking through the mall with Darrick, I came across this shoes and absolutely fell in love! Now, I really don't wear boat shoes, I think they are too cute, however, I just never had a pair. I need to look up fashion rules regarding these shoes (because no matter how cute they are, they are still boat shoes), here in Cleveland the temperature for today is in the high 50's, and if I were to purchase these shoes, are they appropriate for the season/temperatures?!?!?!

I really love these because of the leopard print (not to mention they look comfortable since they are flat)...DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!!

Okay onto more Leopard Prints! Now I feel every woman should have a pair of leopard print shoes...to me they are always in style, and they are so FREAKING sexy!!! So while I already have a pair of Leopard Print Heels, I am contemplating purchasing another pair to wear post-baby (you better believe my sexy is coming back full force afterwards)!!! Right now I guess I will have to settle for some cute flats, until after the baby (and although I want a boy, if its a girl...I have already spotted her some leopard print shoes as well)!!  

I am also loving the Pantone Fall 2011 colors. Pantone, the makers of color dyes, color swatch guides and the world gurus of color. Although, these colors are determined earlier in the year, I just researched them now to see what I should be wearing in the Fall.

The OPI and Essie Fall Collections are also great this year! I think I am loving the OPI more because of the bright colors, however, I plan to try a couple from both lines!

Okay so I think that's about it for the Fall Trends that I am Loving, although I know there are many more trends for this season...like Patterns and Prints for apparel, and feminine Down Jackets! LOL!

21 Week Update

So I have been searching all over for my camera cord so I could post these pictures. I have taken pictures since I have been pregnant, however, I always forget to post them! 

This picture is a little dark, however I was around 16/17 weeks on this picture! 

This is me now at 21 weeks! WHOA can we say big difference! 

How far along: 21 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: My last appointment I was holding steady at 4lbs since I found out I was pregnant
Maternity clothes: I can fit some of my pre-pregnancy tops (not many), all maternity pants
Stretch marks: Boo Stretch Marks...on my stomach
Sleep: I go to sleep good but I wake up daily at 4am, then its hit or miss if I go back to sleep
Best moment this week: Having a little more energy!
Gender: I don't know I find out Monday!!! 
Belly button in or out?:  Still In:)
Craving: Fresh Fruit and Sweets at the Moment
What I miss: Having Pizza and Wine with Darrick

Nails...

Each season there are new nail trends, honestly sometimes I get caught up in them and sometimes I do my own thing. Doing my nails has always been "my thing," my sister was the hair girl and I was the nail girl. I usually just do my own nails, my mom and niece (my #1 customer), and occasionally my sister's toes!  I haven't really purchased the September issues of any magazines, so I searched around to find the nail trends of the season.

In doing my research I came across InStyle Magazine's, "Which Nail Colors Will You Wear This Season?"  This article shows the many nail color trends for the upcoming season, they polled their Facebook fans to see what new colors they'd try this season. So I decided to show the colors and choose which ones I plan on trying this season as well...

I believe that I would try all of these colors except the blues, I'm not really a blue nail polish wearer. Between my collection of colors and my mom's we have a lot of the beige's, mauve's, and coppers. I'm really interested in trying some of the greens.

Cutest Celeb Baby Bumps...

I was on Essence Magazine's website browsing as I always do, and I literally stumbled across a set of pictures called Cutest Celeb Baby Bumps. Now you know since Beyonce just announced she was pregnant, pregnancy is talked about as if she is the first person ever to have a baby LOL (#I'm just saying)...I will admit I loved the Tuxedo Jacket and Black Pants on the MTV Video Music Awards.
