Following in the footsteps of many other celebs, Queen Latifah launched her first collection for Home Shopping Network this past weekend. The fall-ready line is filled with figure-flattering silhouettes Queen is known for, and includes outerwear, tops and handbags in suede, leather and knit. The collection ranges in price from $24.90-$249.90.

So what do you think?

I like the items, however, I think they are pretty pricey for basic items?!?!

 

Fun With Our Phones Monday (Day Late Edition)!

So I decided to do a link up today, and the basically all you have to do is post some of the pictures from your cell phone...so since this is my first shot I decided to only do a couple of  pictures! I know Im a day late but oh well! LOL!

Saturdays...

Saturday's are MY days!!

I don't usually have to work, or fall into my normal routine from the week. However, today is a little different, I am currently sitting at work BORED out of my mind and I have only been here for an hour! If you didn't know I work in Higher Education, and honestly I couldn't see myself working in any other field, but the students are returning this weekend and school starts on Monday (so can you say I have been a crazy lady all week...and probably next week as well). I really like working on a college campus, however, I do hate when we have to work on weekends or evenings and no one shows up! We are here at work to provide Financial Aid assistance to students who are moving in and this is the only time they can come in with their parents before school starts. Well in my sitting here for an hour I have done nothing but eat fruity tootsie rolls (LOL..don't judge the pregnant lady)! I have some emails to return, and I'm getting around to them...but other than that I have to wonder why we are here! I have been up since about 6:50 probably with the anticipation of going to work today...like I started this blog...I don't like being scheduled to do things today! I like having my Saturday's to myself...(okay enough venting)!! Guess I will set up some more blogs for the rest of the week and try to get back on a schedule!!

Blog Updates...

Crazy how it seems like every time I write a blog I have to do updates all over again! Its just I don't really have the time to write on a daily basis like I used to before.

I do want to start by saying THANK YOU to my faithful readers, even though in the past few months I haven't been the best blogger you all have still stuck around and continue to read when I do write a blog!

School...

I haven't been up to much just trying to finish out this Finance Class with school. Its literally killing me, I absolutely hate this class! I'm really irritated with my professor because he had us purchase the book, however, everything we have to read is online and personally I'm not an online reader! I prefer to print it out and read it, however, I am unable to do that because all the articles are like 100-200 pages! Booo...I cant wait to do his evaluation, because if you weren't going to use the book you shouldn't have had us purchase it!

Wedding...

There really isn't much new with the wedding, we found the bridesmaids dresses last week. I think it was last week when we went. They are black and white...and I cant wait to see my girls in them! And they look perfect with my dress! I talked to my Wedding Coordinator yesterday, and she said she found me some BLING to help decorate with, so I cant wait to see what she has for me!

Next Thursday, I am meeting my Wedding Coordinator and my mom and sister at the reception site. They haven't seen it because Darrick and I booked some of our major stuff by ourselves! So they need to see it so they can get a fill for how we want to decorate...time is flying by and I know it will be here before we know it!

Pregnancy...

I switched doctors!! Wahooo!!! My next appointment is next month, but I changed doctors. I originally was going to this male doctor( which was new in itself for me since I usually see a female)...but I just realized that every time I asked a question he talked to me as if I was stupid so I decided not to go with him anymore! My last appointment Darrick went with me, although we didn't find out the sex of the baby, he did get to see the baby on the monitor because they couldn't get his heartbeat with the handheld machine. After talking with Darrick he said he didn't care for the doctor either because he seemed like he was more anxious to get us out the office rather than answer our questions! However, the baby is fine...he was moving A LOT when I was at the doctors last week, and he is a pretty big size. When I go back I'm going to have the doctor check to see if I am further along than what we originally thought because the baby is pretty big for me only being 16 weeks at the time (the baby was supposed to be around the size of an avocado).

I guess sometime in the near future I will post some pregnancy pictures...LOL! I just have to remember to do it!

Job...

The job has been very stressful lately. Its time for the students to come back so of course working in Financial Aid, we get all the angry parents and students. Not to mention I didn't get the best review a few weeks ago. Really hurt my feelings because I feel I come in work and work hard, but I prayed about it and put it all in God's Hands. There is a lot more to this story but I just rather not put in out on the Internet! I will just say "Everything happens for a Reason" and there is something that will be revealed in this situation and also a blessing coming too!

***Also I have contacted one person about doing a new layout on my blog, but I think she is really busy at the time. Does anyone have any recommendations of people that do blog layouts for a reasonable price?!?!?! If so please forward their information to me!!! Thanks!

 

Wedding Updates...

Okay, so I havent done a wedding update since MAY! OMG!!! I've been working my little heart away so everything is prepared in advance (prior to the baby being born)! I have met with my coordinator a few times since I have been back on vacation...our first meeting was to get things back in order and on track! It was very productive! She also met with Darrick and his Brother (the Bestman) to go over what he needs to be doing at this time since he thinks he has a whole lot of time left to plan, the baby and wedding will be here before we know it! LOL! We also met the following week at one of our craft stores to look for decorations! Well that day wasnt productive because the store no longer carried the stuff we were looking for! It was a huge bummer because I was READY to go into craft mode! But she did show me these decorations she has used for other weddings, and how we could use that and change the colors.

So now we are at the point when I need to pink the shade of pink I want to use! My wedding colors if you didnt know are black and white with pink accents. I havent chosen the shade of pink because I dont know what color I want to use. And at this point I am very indecisive!

There are so many shades of pink...what is a girl to do?!?!?!

These are pictures of a wedding from Essence Magazine Bridal Bliss Section, I completely fell in love with how the pictures looked! VERY CLASSIC! I have decided that we are probably going to do black dresses! And hopefully Darrick will choose the white coat tuxedo...but I am leaving that to him, however, I have thrown hints and what I would LOVE to see him in! LOL (hopefully he is reading this post)!

My mom, my sister, my niece and I went to the Bridal Shop a few weeks ago to look around, price things, and try a few things on. Carlyce (my sister) tried on some dresses. My sister is Workout Wendy, so she basically has the perfect petite shape, however, the rest my girls are all shapes and sizes...so I plan to go back next week with a couple of my girls to see how they all look in the dresses that we picked out!

Random Thoughts...

Since I have been pregnant there are many changes going on with my body and emotionally.

So I decided to write a list of random things that are going on with me...

I have always been a crybaby (LITERALLY) but now once I start, I'm like a broken faucet (in the words of my sister)...I LITERALLY cant stop...and I mean I cant stop!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lemons! I sit and eat lemons!

I'm totally out of breath after going up a few stairs, or walking...(and I'm only 16 weeks)

My appetite has increase a bunch within the last few days

I wake up with random aches and pains...usually once I get moving I'm fine but I feel a million years old when I first wake up.

Its imperative for me to take a nap after work!

Being pregnant and being around my 5 year old niece is the most hilarious thing ever...she always ask me where is the baby when I see her! Then she hugs me and kisses my stomach or talks to the baby...I guess he/or she has their first friend/cousin!

I'm SUPER clingy with Darrick now...and usually when we are around each other I am always sort of touchy-feely but now I think its extra and I don't care if it gets on his nerves! LOL!

I absolutely LOVE when he (Darrick) ask how his Baby (me), and his Little Man (we really want a BOY) are doing, I guess if we have a little girl his nickname for the baby will have to change! (BTW we find out next week what we are having)!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!!


I cant eat apples... I'm usually sick afterwards! 


At this point I really don't like grilled food...so if we are cooking on the grill I eat a hot-dog and that's about it. The thought of grilled chicken or ribs makes my stomach turn. 


**So I think this is all the weirdness (I know that's probably not a word) that is going on with me right now** Pregnancy really changes your life!!! LOL:)

Semi-Wordless Wednesday

 I was sitting in the car on my lunch, enjoying the breeze...and I thought fall is coming! Its cooler here in Cleveland than its been in a while. I saw on facebook how people were saying they cant wait until fall, I guess we are never satisfied with the weather (when its cold we want hot, when its hot we want cooler weather).

I must admit today really made me look forward to fall. I was talking to my parents last night and we were trying to decide which football game we can have a tailgating party for. I said the first Ohio State game...of course when I ran that idea past Darrick this morning he said it was going to be a boring game (he is Mr. SEC), but hey, I graduated from OSU so despite everything that has been going on with them in the media, I still root for the home team!

I cant wait for Thanksgiving...I would have to say this is by far my favorite holiday! I just LOVE the family gatherings and the food is always a plus. Thank God I'm marrying into a family that loves to cook as much as my own family does...and its GOOD SOUTHERN COOKING...not just cooking! I love both of my families!!! Even my sisters in-laws cook good food, but its island style! I guess you can say we got lucky on both sides!

Okay so dont shoot me because this isnt my formal Wordless Wednesday...if I hadnt added words I sure people wouldve viewed the blog and thought I got my calendar confused!

Engagement Pictures...

Today, I decided to post my engagement pictures. If you are my friend on facebook you have already seen these pictures. I have posted the same ones because I don't want to show all of them because we are using them at the wedding and I want some keep some for that day!

When Chantal Stone my photographer, mailed me the CD of the pictures I fell in LOVE. I fell in love with the pictures, and I fell in love with Darrick all over again! I think we fell in love with each other again LOL!! The night we got the pictures, Darrick came over and took the CD home with him. When I woke up the next morning he had sent me an email, with the pictures in a slide show playing a song that we listens to all the time.

Yeah I'm pretty much a sucker, I started crying! LOL!
