Semi-Wordless Wednesday: RIP Mia Amber Davis

As many of you know I originally started this blog as a Plus Size Fashion Blog, however, it has turned in to much more than just a fashion blog. When I started this blog I had just finished working as an intern for SKORCH Magazine, and I wanted to continue what I was doing but at my own pace. I still continued to network with those in the Plus Fashion Industry, Mia Amber was always a face that you saw! She was in advertisements for Monif C., Ashley Stewart, Just My Size, BET Rock the Runway Fashion Show and many, many more!

Yesterday, while on facebook I noticed a message posted from PLUS Model Magazine:

It is with great sorrow that we are confirming that our dear friend, and plus size model Mia Amber passed away just a short time ago. We do not have any details, please send your love and prayers to the family, mom and her husband. Her fan page is here Mia Amber Davis Fan Page. We are deeply saddened by this tragedy.

This message hit me like a ton of bricks! Although I didnt know her personally, I felt bad for industry as a whole! I felt bad for her family, especially her husband, her friends (I would often see her in pictures with a lot of the other top models that I am friends with on facebook). I just felt sad altogether! This is such a tragic loss for the Plus Size Community, and although we do different things within the community(bloggers, models, motivational speakers, designers, authors), we all have one common goal and that is size acceptance and its a very tight-knit group!

Many arent familiar with the PLUS Size Fashion Industry, but you may remember Mia Amber Davis from the movie Roadtrip, she was the underwear-clad full-figured seductress!

Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
