Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition

Last night, Darrick and I watched 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition' we only started watching it because the TV was already on ABC. Rachel is the girl in the clip,  she wrote a letter to trainer Chris Powell to help her with this journey. She started at 369 lbs and went on to shed 161 lbs in a year. "When I was younger, I would always pray that I would know what it would feel like to be skinny," Rachel said at her final reveal, showing off her new figure and radiant smile.

This show is being brought to the screen by the same producers behind 'The Biggest Loser.' The participants were actually too big for the NBC competition series, which means that their need to lose weight is even greater.

This is feel-good television, which is what the 'Extreme Makeover' brand has become all about. Maybe we can now look forward to 'Extreme Makeover: Career Edition' and 'Extreme Makeover: Marriage Edition.'

This episode hit home with myself, mainly because I know how she feels. I have been able to accomplish many things in my life, however, when it comes to weight this is something that I constantly struggle with! So while watching this show last night, Chris Powell gave Rachel goals that she has to meet and she will reward herself. Darrick and I sat and wrote out our goals for June and the deadline of when we need to have them completed! I felt really motivated, and I felt that my goals were attainable! We talked about doing this monthly so we could stay on track with things we need to complete.

I felt the same way...I was happy for Rachel but I knew exactly where she was coming from. Losing weight is so hard and requires so much discipline. I put in work everywhere else in my life but in that area I continue to fall off!
