Birthday Weekend-Recap

My birthday weekend was a success!!! I was surprised with a little weekend getaway with my Fiancé!!! My actual birthday was on Saturday but we started the weekend early on Friday. Friday, we rode to Akron which is only 30-40 mins away from Cleveland, and we got a hotel for the weekend!!! Darrick told me to pack a bag but I thought he meant pack a bag to come over his house, I didnt know he meant for the weekend...LOL!

I searched all through my closet for a dress to wear for my birthday...but I didn't like any of them! I opted for a Boyfriend Blazer, and a ruffle button down shirt and some skinny jeans! I'm so glad this outfit came out okay because I hadn't tried it on before I left my house. I also curled my hair up with rollers and pinned it up (I'm not a hair person at all so I was totally surprised I pulled this off)!!!

Blazer-Macys (last year)

Skinny Jeans-Old Navy

Blouse-(Ralph Lauren) TJ Maxx

Shoes-Jessica Simpson

Clutch-Betsey Johnson

For dinner we went to Eat.Drink.Crave Restaurant

I have been to Crave before with some girlfriends, but this was the first time going with Darrick. I talked about it so much that he said this was his first choice for dinner for the two of us...too bad the service really sucked Friday night! We had reservations for 7pm and we were seated right away, when we were being seated I requested a booth and the Host told us we had to reserve one in order to get it (when there was clearly one available), and I had a booth the last time I went there and it was never reserved in advance! Hmmph! I didn't let this spoil the night, so we let the Host seat us in a table...when we sat down at a table for 4 people Darrick had to put the chair on the side of the table because he couldn't fit his legs underneath...he is 6'5" so you cant just seat him anywhere...if we had a booth he could at least have stretched out his legs since they were made in a half-circle format! Again, I didn't let this ruin the night and he just dealt with it without saying too much! The guy that was our waiter came over to take our orders, but failed to offer the specials because he said "he didn't know if we were interested"....excuse me let me be the judge of that!!! Thank You...little did he know we both ordered the special on the menu!!! I could tell that Darrick was getting fed up but he didn't say anything because he didn't want to ruin the night! Needless to say there were a couple of bumps in the road but we still had good conversation, and a pretty good time!

Saturday Morning, Darrick had to go to church for a meeting and prayer breakfast. So I met up with my friend Robyn for Breakfast at Bob Evans. We sat and had a little bit of girl talk and ate breakfast before it was time for me to meet back up with Darrick! I also had a visit from my friend Denise before she went out of town! Sunday we had our Choir's Anniversary and the colors were Black and Yellow (yes, don't ask about the colors)! LOL! I ordered a dress online, however, it didn't decide to come until yesterday so I had to get out to the mall and find something to wear!

After searching high and low...I ended up with a Yellow Tank Top, Black Sweater and a Black Skirt! Yes, the color for summer is so not Yellow...its coral and everything was Coral and I had a very hard time coming up with this simple outfit!

Saturday night...my mom cooked my favorite (Fried Pork Chops and French Fries)...DONT JUDGE ME! This girl loved her fried pork chops...this is probably the only time I will get them this year! LOL! We also had cupcakes and brownies this was more for my niece and nephew than me...oh and my sister (she has a freakish love affair with cupcakes)! LOL!

Overall, I had a great weekend!!! I couldn't have asked for more...
