First Lady Obama's Sense of Fashion...
I was looking through pictures online and reading lots blogs, when I noticed First Lady Obama's sense of fashion. Now I know she probably has a stylist that helps her create these looks, however, I love that she isn't the traditional first lady and only wears suits. I admire her style, she has influenced me to wear more dresses at work, along with the flats. I usually wear flats to work but I feel that if I have on a dress I automatically think I need heels (and heels at my job will be SUPER uncomfotable), but since I've been paying attention style I have also noticed her love for flats...I love the dresses and skirts with the different colored flat shoes or kitten heels!

Randomness of My Day...
I couldn't really come up with a creative title for this blog. I was sent home from work today because I'm sick. Cleveland weather is HORRIBLE (although we have had a great summer)! This week started off cold, as in long sleeves, and closed toe shoes...today its supposed to get into the 90's! So with all the ups and downs of the weather, and my office at work being COLD...I have managed to catch a cold, or develop a sinus infection! Not really sure...what I do know is that I don't really want to pay the co-pay for the doctors today or actually sitting in the doctors office today!
When I got off work I went to grab something to eat by Darrick's job so I could see him before he went into work and to also get a hug (he gives the best hugs and kisses on the forehead)!!! While grabbing some food from Micky D's I ran into my friend Stephanie that I haven't seen in FOREVER! We played catch up and she is doing really well and I'm REALLY happy for her!!! On my way home to change before the doctors I was thinking about seeing Darrick and how I haven't really seen him this week because he's been working a lot, and how I really missed him! He's been working 12 hours days and every other weekend, last weekend was the first weekend in a long time we got a chance to chill out and do nothing all day and it was GREAT!!!
On my way home I also got the chance to think about how I need to take my vitamins! I know you are reading mom (she reads my blog faithfully and she may even decide to comment)...I work with germy (I know its not a word) college students! Not only do they not shower, but they also don't take care of themselves and they spread germs. They are as bad as working at a preschoolers! Anyways...I need to take better care of myself with my vitamins because I have been sick a number of times since taking this position last year! Do they have gummi multi-vitamins for adults...maybe that will help me take them on a regular basis! I don't know why I cant remember to take them...we used to take them like clockwork when I was little!
Well I guess this is enough randomness for one day...LOL!
Off to the doctors I go...

Sprint HTC Evo 4g: Review
So it has been a little over a month since I gave up my Blackberry and switched to the HTC Evo 4g. It has been a major difference for me, mainly because everything is now touch screen! I will admit that sometimes I miss my Blackberry, because we had been together for so long! LOL! No seriously I think the application that I miss the most from the Blackberry is the Blackberry Messenger. Other than BBM I like my new phone and the applications that I have been able to download! This morning I was able to download and application to track my weight, weight watchers points calculator, Rue La La, and a few other applications. The good part is that all of the applications I use are free. Sprint gives you the option of buying applications, but why buy then when most of the good ones are free (I even have a walkie talkie application that Darrick and I use for each other when we don't feel like texting or emailing)! I just looked up a Blackberry Messenger application and it said it should be coming soon, so once that application comes along I will be back in business with my blackberry buddies!

Ladies First
A return to feminine silhouettes and colours is easy to embrace for fall
Toranto Sun-"Pull out the pearls and the kitten-heeled pumps and get ready to deck your closet with ladylike classics.
Blame it on Mad Men if you like, but designers like Louis Vuitton, Prada, Pink Tartan and Ralph Lauren are showing a wealth of polished silhouettes that evoke modern versions of the styles of the 1950s and 1960s.
“The ladylike romantic look has been surfacing for a few seasons now through draping, ruffles and lace. I believe the Mad Men phenomenon has definitely played a role in the re-emergence of this look, as well as the style of women in power who have also become classic trendsetters, such as Michelle Obama,” says Crystal Walton, of Vancouver-based Wear Else.
Dresses and skirts offer new width in A-line and dirndl styles that are either short or knee-length. Although slim sheath dresses and pencil skirts remain on the mark, they’re often softened by a more generous cut through the hips and are joined by new styles that feature a definite waistline and hourglass silhouette.
Skirts are paired with bow-neck blouses, lace tops, thin gauge cardigans and pullovers.
“Buttoned and belted cardigans are a fashion must-have that works with every trend this season, including skirts, dresses and trousers,” says Robin Keeler, a fashion director at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto.
Enhance your modern ladylike look by choosing clothing in neutral shades of camel, black, cream, taupe, gray and soft pink, as well as opting for brighter fashion shades such as golden yellow, violet and chartreuse.
“Look for rich jewel tones, especially in shades of merlot red, ink blue and teal to add life to your fall wardrobe,” says Cynthia Florek, a brand and trend director for Sears Canada.
Fur, faux fur and leopard print jackets, bags and footwear add a modern edge. White and black snow leopard and tiger prints join classic beige, black and brown-toned pieces.
Just like mother would have instructed you, finish off ladylike ensembles with stockings and a pair of suede or smooth leather pumps. Almond and pointy-toed pumps with platform soles are popular, as are kitten-heels that range from one to three inches.
Bouffant, sixties style hair dos, and dramatic winged eye liner accompanied by very pale or very dark lips finish your look on a proper note. Burgundy and deep red fingertips are also back in vogue."

Cardigans, skirts, dresses, and trousers are also going to make an appearance in my wardrobe this fall! I have already started updating my clothes for work and I have a couple of these pieces in them!!!

7 Fall Nail Polishes to Wear Now
Deep Red
This season, classic cherry-red nails are stepping aside to make room for their darker counterparts. Turn to this crimson creme polish on days you want to bring out your inner vixen. (Essie Limited Addiction)
Light Purple and Graphite
OPI's Swiss Collection, like any of its spreads, includes an impressive array of colors, and we couldn't choose just one. The Color to Watch (pictured left), surely lives up to its vain name — the shimmery lavender is one of those great in-between-seasons transition colors. Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous (right) is a sheer dark gray glitter — layer it on for an edgier look.
**I just bought the Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous yesterday (Wahoo...cant wait to wear it)***
Nude
This on-the-verge-of-pink shade is flattering on most skin tones. The neutral color will balance out your look amid all the sequins, leather, and hardware of this fall's fashion trends. (Pop Beauty Nail Glam in O'Boy)
Lots of Glitter
Pop culture is a huge influence on beauty trends, and we like to think that Deborah Lippmann harnessed that affinity in these two hues. Across the Universe (pictured left) pays homage to the 2007 award-nominated movie-musical. The navy polish has flashy blue and green specks, which take on the form of nail art. Lippmann went Gaga over Bad Romance (right), a smoky black hue infused with purple glitter. They go on sheer, so you'll need to layer for maximum color.
**Not really sure how I feel about the Glitter...I'm not sure this would be work appropriate**
Cobalt Blue
Blues get a little brighter this season, which is good news if you're not ready to give up your electric summer colors just yet. MAC has teamed up with nail genius Jin Soon for the Nail Trend F/W 2010 collection, inspired by Imperial China. This particular hue reminds us of the detail on antique Chinese plates. Food Rant...
Lately, I have been trying to get my life back in order since vacation. Yeah vacation was a month ago so don't judge me...LOL! I have been trying to eat better on my lunch, so one day I opted for a salad at Wendy's instead of a burger! So I tried the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad...OMG this has to be one of the best salads ever!!! The salad has iceberg, romaine and spring mix lettuces (little spinach, a little red chard and red and green leaf lettuce). Fresh apples cut into chunks. I was expecting sour Granny Smith apples, but instead found they used a sweeter apple, which was surprisingly fresh (and crunchy). The salad has grilled chicken breast, roasted pecans, cranberries, and Pomegranate Vinaigrette dressing.
Take a look at the pic below....
Well this delicious salad comes to a whopping
580 calories, 27 grams of fat, 39 grams of sugar!
OMG!!!!
Okay, so when I stopped at Wendy's last night to pick up a quick dinner I decided to grab this salad...I remembered having a conversation with Darrick on the new salads at Wendy's and he told me that he saw a special on TV about how many calories they have in them. So to prove to him wrong...LOL...I decided to look it up and calculate the Weight Watchers points for it.........13 POINTS for one salad!!! This is ridiculous and he was right!! Heck, I should've eaten a hamburger...that's what I really wanted anyways!!!
On to my next food rant...
On to my next food rant...
If you know me than you know I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chipotle!!! A few days ago Darrick and I were going to go to lunch, so I wanted to go to Chipotle! He gave me the side eye and said we couldn't go because he is doing "The Biggest Loser Challenge" at work...and as much as I want him to win, I wanted some Chipotle!!! So after he told me no we couldn't eat that because he couldn't have it. Then he went on to tell me he heard on some other news special that a burrito has over 1700 calories in it...OMG!!! That is more calories than you need in one day! So I found this Chipotle Calculator...and I added up the Burrito Bowl that I get (Chicken, Rice, Black Beans, Mild Tomato Salsa, Cheese, Sour Cream and Lettuce)....685 Calories (15 Weight Watchers Points without Chips, 29 Weight Watchers Points with Chips)! If I add chips its 1255 calories!!! Guess I can say Bye, Bye to Chipotle (Sad Face w/tears)!!!
Well I guess the lesson behind all of this is I need to start back packing my healthy lunches from home! And I need to be more conscious of the foods I consume when I eat out! And just because it may look healthy and sound healthy doesn't mean it is (well I knew Chipotle wasnt healthy...I was just in denieal !
Ok...I'm done ranting about food...(insert sad face)!!
